 A message from our fearless leader, Jim McCoy  (President, McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, Inc.)

"I don't particularly like salespeople--or lawyers for that matter (except for my stepson Mikey). Generally speaking I guess I don't like fancy pitches by people in loud wide ties. You know....'only my this-or-that will make your tractor run'. Malarkey!

Now I'm not perfect and I imagine those who know me say they're tired of hearing me crow-on about McConnell's ice creams (we've been crowing since 1949). But, plain straight, there is no better ice cream made on this planet. How do I know this fact? I buy my fresh cream only from our local central California dairies and pasteurize and homogenize myself. No goopy ingredients or "chunky funky" things get added in along the way either... just pure vanillas (that we have made for us in Paso Robles), cocoas (that we buy from Guittard in San Francisco), sugar (from Hawaii), eggs (from Santa Ynez), and completely natural flavorings from all over the darned place. That's it. Here in Santa Barbara a face-to-face over a cup of strong coffee and a dish of ice cream is how I peddle my wares. Y'either think they're the best or you don't.

This web page stuff isn't my idea and frankly it seems like just another newfangled way to give a wide-tie pitch. But, if you find yourself reading this and want to give our ice creams a go then try our coupon or come to Santa Barbara, California, next time you're out and about. We're a few blocks off of State Street and I'll give you a tour of our factory and sit you down with a dish of our Chocolate Burnt Almond. That's the way we do it here. If you like it, ask your local corner store to give me a call. But if you don't think McConnell's makes the world's greatest ice creams, that's OK too."
